This day on 20 May 2008, 17 years ago, I set up Terceiro Legal Consulting.
Since then I have had 1096 clients or about 65 clients a year, with a few false starts. Some people just don’t like being told they are going to lose and should give up!Best ever referral – a client went to see a fortune teller who described the type of lawyer he needed and based on the parameters given by the fortune teller he ended up with me!
Most fun – working with Nick Xenophon on giving the ACCC a hard time in Senate Estimates on their ugg boot investigation – see video below.
Closest call – was asked by Booktopia to provide a quote for an independent review and was pretty disappointed when I missed out on the gig…until the company went into voluntary administration a few months later.
Craziest call - agreeing to run a probono case in the NSW Supreme Court Equity Division without a barrister on behalf of 13 defendants most of whom did not speak English. Fortunately it settled!
Most offensive request – the client who wanted legal assistance in setting up a brothel comparison site – I passed on this work.
