Australian Business Law Review, Vol 51, Part 3

ABLR Vol 51, Part 3 is out. This edition features four excellent contributions:

* Accountability and the PwC Tax Leak Scandal – Brent Fisse

* Workplace Bullying and Unreasonable Management Action: A Psychosocial Threat to Workplace Health and Safety – Joan Squelch and Philip Evans

* Not in Isolation: The Rationale for a Combination of Business Structures
in Australia – Barbara TradBrett FreudenbergCraig Cameron and John Minas

* Book Review - Current Issues in Competition Law – Volume II: Practice and Perspectives, , edited by Michael Gvozdenovic and Stephen Puttick - reviewed by Nicholas Felstead

I would again like to encourage prospective authors to consider submitting their articles to the ABLR. One significant advantage of seeking to publish your article in the ABLR is our much quicker turnaround times compared to other leading legal journals. We aim to publish practical business law articles on topical issues in a timely manner, which means we have to operate on shorter time frames.

Check out my recent video presentation entitled "Shining a light on a less than classy act - Gill v Ethicon Sàrl (No 12) [2023] FCA 902". In this presentation I look at Justice Lee's decision concerning Shine Lawyer’s application for an additional $32 million in legal costs from the group settlement amount in the pelvic mesh litigation.

Milking it for all it’s worth - ACCC v Lactalis Australia Pty Ltd

Check out my recent video presentation entitled "Milking it for all it’s worth - ACCC v Lactalis Australia Pty Ltd" in which I look at Derrington J's liability and penalty decisions in the ACCC's first enforcement action under the Dairy Code. A somewhat strange penalty judgment with the judge seeming to minimise the seriousness of Lactalis' conduct and then imposing a penalty which was around 70% of the statutory maximum.
