New watchdog, bigger fines floated for $182b franchise sector
Big changes ahead for the franchising sector, including potentially a new "single body to manage franchising disputes through mediation or mandatory arbitration which could be funded through a levy paid by the franchisors".
I think that is a good idea, particularly as I suggested that idea in my own submission to the Franchising Enquiry (although admittedly I was not the only one to make that suggestion!) https://www.smh.com.au/business/small-business/new-watchdog-bigger-fines-floated-for-182b-franchise-sector-20190822-p52jsf.html
